A while ago we took a look at King Ronnie and his lavish court. But of course, somebody has to pay for all the pomp. So today we focus on ordinary people. People like you and me, work hard and pay a lot of taxes. All miniatures are from Foundry.
So let’s start with Piers the Ploughman dutifully plowing his field.
The dreaded Tax Collector
The next vignette features the dreaded tax collector harassing a poor peasant. The guard is only present to boost the motivation to pay. I really like his casual pose in this scene.
Finally, we have one of the King’s men after successfully collecting some taxes.
Last Words
I had a great time painting these miniatures. Building these kinds of vignettes really adds flavor to the table and helps to tell a story. I will definitely build similar stuff for other settings. But that’s a story for another day. So stay tuned and as always happy wargaming!
